How to Cancel Tinder Gold Subscription iPhone or Android

How to Cancel Your Tinder Gold Subscription on iPhone or Android

Tinder is a popular app for meeting new people. Users swipe right, left, and even up to indicate interest and open communications. The app uses a freemium model Advertisements are shown to free users using the Facebook Audience network. Paid subscribers are not shown ads and have more options available to them than the unpaid users. But if it’s not working out, you might need to cancel Tinder Gold.

Tinder offers two subscription levels, Plus and Gold, that give paid subscribers additional features, and both remove the ads. Tinder Plus subscription affords users unlimited likes and more super likes each day. In addition, users can spoof their location, so they can hook-up on trips and find results based on where they are.

Tinder Plus is the next level up. It lets users undo any swipe in case they change their mind either way. Tinder Plus also lets users change their location so they can hook-up while traveling.

Tinder Gold offers subscribers the same benefits as Plus including even more super likes per day. The major benefit is that Tinder Gold lets you see who likes you via right swipes on the app. With Gold your profile can be featured in your (whatever) location for 30 minutes with “skip the line.” Tinder Plus is known for its variable pricing structure. Subscribers are charged different rates based on location and age. The thought is the Tinder users in developing countries might not be able to afford the same monthly fee as a user in the United States. The age differential is unexplained but it most likely accounts for the fact that 79% of Tinder users are millennials. Subscribers over the age of 28 years are charged double that of younger users. Both subscription levels allow you to hide your age and therefore that you paid more than the next guy.

So, if you decide you don’t need to increase your stable of hook-ups anymore and want to cancel Tinder Gold or Tinder Plus you’ll need to remove your payment information and cancel the subscription – which is not the same as cancelling the account. Cancelling Tinder Gold subscription is not the same as deleting a profile and leaving the app. Deleting payment options simply cancels a paid subscription. Deleting the app from your phone also does not remove your profile. To remove your profile from Tinder permanently go to your settings in the app and select Delete Account.

Deleting the app off your smartphone or other device does not cancel your a Tinder subscription! Users must log into the app or Tinder web account and cancel payments in the auto renewal option under the subscription section of your account.

What is Tinder?

Tinder is a dating app founded in 2012. Users are matched by geographical location and biographical information. It has an estimated 50 million users with five percent of them logging on daily. Only 3.8 million subscribers pay for Tinder in the form of Tinder Gold and Tinder Plus subscriptions. Seventy-nine percent of them are millennials and they average 35 minutes on the app each day.

How to cancel a Tinder Gold subscription depends on what type of device the used to access Tinder. The steps for Android, iOS and web users are equally simple.

How to Cancel Tinder Gold Subscription iPhone

  1. Go to iOS settings on your phone
  2. Find and select iTunes & App Store
  3. Tap your Apple ID email
  4. Tap View Apple ID
  5. Log in if needed
  6. Go to the Subscriptions section and select Manage
  7. Select Tinder from the list of subscriptions
  8. Set the auto-renewal slider to Off or choose Unsubscribe

Note: If the option to turn off auto-renewal is not showing under the subscriptions section, then your Tinder Gold subscription is already set to expire. You should see an expiration date rather than the ability to cancel the subscription.

How to Cancel Tinder Gold Subscription on Android

  1. Open the Google Play Store app on your phone or laptop
  2. From the left-hand menu, select Account
  3. Select Subscriptions
  4. Select Tinder then choose Cancel or Unsubscribe
  5. Confirm the selection

Alternatively, Android and web users can go to Google Play subscriptions in a web browser to cancel Tinder Gold. Go to https://play.google.com/store/account/subscriptions From there you can manage all subscriptions including Tinder Gold.

Like Android users, Tinder web subscribers can delete their Tinder Gold payment information in the Google Play store subscriptions. Tinder web subscribers can also cancel their Tinder Gold subscription by deleting their accounts online.

How to Cancel Tinder Gold Subscription for Tinder Online Using a Web Browser

  1. Go to www.Tinder.com
  2. Tap the profile icon at the top of the main screen
  3. Go to Manage Account
  4. Either disable Auto Renew or select Cancel

After canceling your subscription, Tinder Gold users can use the balance of the time remaining on their paid subscription. When the subscription expires, it will not be renewed. Canceling Tinder Gold does not refund or prorate unused days. The cancelled Tinder account will simply not renew after the expiration date.
