How to Delete or Edit Credit Card Payment Information in Google Chrome
Google Chrome may have your credit card numbers and PayPal login stored for use as payment information. Your payment information may be used by the Google Pay app. However, if you have this Google Chrome setting “Allow sites to check if you have payment methods saved” set to on, then third-party websites may be allowed to access your credit card numbers.
This may not seem like such a cyber security issue, but remember anyone who accesses your phone, tablet, laptop may use the stored payment information to buy online. Also, if you log into another session of a Chrome browser on another laptop, say in a hotel or public place, then someone can access your payment information as well.
Logging into any public device is always a security risk, even if it is just for posting on social media. This gives hackers the opportunity to get your personal information and launch a social engineering attack against you or others you know.
You can secure your credit cards that are stored by Chrome and Google Pay by deleting them from Chrome and Google Pay. Note – you won’t be able to delete any payment information if it is attached to a recurring payment such as Google Drive space or Gmail.
