DoppelPaymer Ransomware gang demands $20M for stolen data

Kia Motors America (KMA) has been hit by a ransomware attack. The company suffered from outages that affected internal websites, payments, phone services, and customer portals.
DoppelPaymer ransomware gang is reportedly behind the attack.
The note from the attackers demands $20M USD in ransom. It also says that DoppelPaymer attacked parent company Hyundai Motor America.

“KMA is aware of IT outages involving internal, dealer and customer-facing systems, including UVO. We apologize for any inconvenience to our customers and are working to resolve the issue and restore normal business operations as quickly as possible,” Kia Motors America told Bleeping Computer.
Kia Motors has denied claims that its outages are caused by ransomware.
DoppelPaymer claims to have lifted Kia data and is threatening to dump it online if their demands are not met.
Kia Motors America is a subsidiary Kia Motors Corporation subsidiary and is based in California.
