AmexGBT is seeking a Manager of Cyber Security Engineering to manage a team of security engineers, continuously evolve our security infrastructure to strengthen our security posture, assist the Director of Security Engineering and Architecture with strategic planning, and creating metrics to demonstrate your team’s performance. The Manager of Cyber Security Engineering will be expected to speak authoritatively on behalf of their team and technical knowledge should demonstrate both depth and breadth. This manager will be responsible for their team’s organizational structure and how their team works within the context of the larger AmexGBT Cyber Security Team, leveraging strengths of individual team members, delegating tasks appropriately and managing delivery of long term projects.
- Planning, implementing, managing, monitoring and upgrading security measures for the protection of the corporate data, systems and networks.
- Experience driving large, cross-organization initiatives
- Experience managing communication with geographically distributed teams
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, especially experience with executive-level communications
- Skilled at explaining complex technical issues in terms understandable by the business
- Ability to make concrete progress in the face of ambiguity and imperfect knowledge
- Proven analytical abilities and design skills
- Strong sense of ownership, urgency and drive
- Strong project management experience for working on cross-functional projects
- Experience providing training and mentorship
- Design security architecture and develop detailed cyber security designs
- Prepare and document standard operating procedures and protocols
- Develop technical solutions and implement new security tools to help mitigate security vulnerabilities and automate repeatable tasks
- Responding to all system and/or network security incidents
- Daily administrative tasks, reporting and communication with relevant stakeholders
- Deliver comprehensive reports including assessment-based findings, outcomes and propositions for further system security enhancement
- Working as part of a team in a diverse, engaging, supportive and respectful manner
- Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor security engineers while building and maintaining high agility and morale
Required Skills
- Knowledge of risk assessment tools, technologies and methods
- Experience designing secure networks, systems and application architectures
- Direct experience with implementation of industry leading security tools
- Experience planning, researching and developing security policies, standards and procedures
- Ability to communicate network security issues to peers and management
- Detailed technical knowledge of database and operating system security
- Experience with network security and networking technologies
- Thorough understanding of the latest security principles, techniques, and protocols
- Maintaining current knowledge of technology capabilities and trends
- Problem solving skills and ability to work under pressure
- BS degree in Computer Science, Cyber Security or related field or equivalent work experience
- Industry certifications in cyber security such as but not limited to, CISSP, GSEC, CSSP, CEH highly desired
- 8+ years working experience in Cyber Security
