
National Practice Leader – Cyber Security – Starr Insurance Companies – New York, NY

Position Overview
This position will primarily be responsible for managing an existing book of Cyber business with additional responsibility for business development on a national scale. Managing a team, renewal retention, premium growth, brand awareness, and product line knowledge will be the priorities, as the underwriter will work to further establish our presence in the Cyber area and in the territory.
Essential Job Functions
- Develop and implement stratgey and guidelines for profitable growth
- Manage P&L to acceptable loss and expense ratios
- Train and develop staff on product and underwriting ; staff to include cyber underwriting team and regional PL underwriters
- Develop new and existing broker contacts
- Assist in achieving the monthly and annual production goals
- Communicate underwriting appetite, underwriting capabilities and generate opportunities
- Achieve targeted quote ratios and hit ratios
- Assist with reinsurance treaty and facultative strategy and placement
- Meet group service goals (quote, bind, policy issuance, etc.)

Leadership/Management Experience Required
- Minimum of 8 years Cyber underwriting background and underwriting experience
- Innovative, entrepreneurial and disciplined underwriting expertise
- Advanced proficiency in computer applications: Excel, Word, Outlook
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Polished presentation and interpersonal skills
