PayPal Log Out All Devices

How to Log Out, Change Your Password, and Remove App Access – Log Out of All Devices on PayPal To Secure Your Account and Prevent Unauthorized Access

If you think your account may be hacked, on PayPal log out of all devices to secure your account. Maybe you used your PayPal account on a friend’s phone and need to log out of it to prevent any future unintentional charges. If you have access to your friend’s phone then you can just log into PayPal and log the device out. If you don’t have access to the phone, then you will have to go to your PayPal account from your own phone or laptop and change the password. A potential issue is that if your friend keeps trying to complete a transaction with PayPal One Touch automatic login, you may get locked out of your account because of multiple failed login attempts that trips PayPal security algorithms.

If you enabled PayPal One Touch for automatic login on your friend’s phone, then log into your PayPal account from your own device Ann remove your friend’s device from your One Touch permissions.

I Used My PayPal on a Friend’s Phone – How Do I Log Out?

If you logged into your PayPal account from a friend’s phone or think that your PayPal account may have been compromised, then it’s important to secure the account immediately. Change your PayPal password right away. Then, add security questions in case you need to verify your ownership.

Add a mobile PIN so you can pay with PayPal on a mobile device easily at a retail store. Be sure to add biometric login to your phone so no one can gain access to your PayPal account if you lose your phone. Enable two-step verification (2FA) on PayPal. You can opt to receive a text message or use an authenticator app. If someone steals your phone, then the SMS text code isn’t going to do much good. I use the authenticator app.

Check PayPal’s One Touch auto login settings to make sure there are no unauthorized devices that can use your account as a payment method. This may include friends or family phones that you’ve used to make purchases from in the past. It may even include phones you no longer have. Next, on the Permissions you’ve given tab, check that there aren’t any apps that have permission to use your PayPal account, especially for a recurring payment like subscriptions.

How Do I Log Out of PayPal on eBay?

To log out of PayPal on eBay you’ll have to handle that from the PayPal side. I have automatic login enabled so when I make a purchase on eBay, I have the option to pay for my PayPal account and choose where the money comes from – either cash left in PayPal or from an associated credit card connected to my PayPal.

  3. Click the gear icon in the upper right corner to go to settings
  4. Select the Security tab

  6. Locate eBay on the list and revoke permissions to access your PayPal

How Do I Remove A Device From My PayPal Account?

To secure your PayPal account log into PayPal and remove all unwanted or unauthorized devices that have authorization including One-Touch automatic login. Then change your PayPal password in case it is stored in your web browser history.

How to Remove Unknown or Unauthorized Devices from Your PayPal

  1. Go to your PayPal account using your Phone or laptop
  2. Log in to PayPal
  3. Click the gear icon in the upper right corner to go to settings
  4. Select the Security tab
  5. Scroll down and select One Touch for auto login at checkout

From this screen, you will be able to manage all devices and browsers where you’ve authorized PayPal. However, this doesn’t help if you have given your password to someone else or logged in and allowed a web browser, like Chrome, to save passwords. The best way to secure your account is to change your password. While you’re at it, add a mobile PIN for future mobile checkout.

If you change your password but have allowed friends or family to use your PayPal account from their phones, you may run receive an account security warning or a mandatory password reset. If someone tries to log into your PayPal account again with the old password and has consecutive login failures, you may get locked out. Be sure to add security questions and answers so you’ll be able to verify ownership of your own PayPal account.
